Merriam Webster's online dictionary defines "network" as an interconnected or interrelated chain, group, or system.

Is your institution currently under travel or budget restrictions? With the budget challenges currently facing institutions, MERLOT will select some proposals to be presented remotely and presenters can participate in parts of the conference at a reduced registration cost. We’re willing to work with you. Don’t let budget constraints prevent you from submitting a proposal!

The teaching and learning environment provides fertile ground for networking. As educational professionals we have the opportunity to grow and learn from colleagues, students, administrators, technology developers, researchers, and more. The higher education community invites creativity and collaboration and it requires individual development and advancement. Educational technology tools used today and in the future will require evaluation and assessment of the learning process. The MERLOT International Conference (MIC) brings all of these elements together and provides educational professionals the opportunity for numerous opportunities to share, learn, and participate in conversations about teaching and learning with technology from experts and MERLOT users from around the world.

MIC09 offers a full day of pre-conference workshops followed by two-and-one-half days of colleague to colleague presentations. The Conference also includes Corporate Sponsor presentations and exhibits, presentations from MERLOT Award winners, and opportunities to gather over food and beverage. The Pre-conference sessions begin on Thursday morning, August 13. The full conference begins with a Welcome Reception Thursday evening and ends at noon on Sunday, August 16.

The Conference Committee invites proposals on the tracks listed below. Proposal deadline is now February 23, 2009.
